University of Oregon | 2025-2026
Examined how Labeling Theory and Broken Windows Theory play out in real policing contexts. Using NYC's stop-and-frisk program and juvenile justice reform as case studies, I explored how the system's response to behavior, especially for young people, can cause more harm than the original offense. My central argument was that diversion programs and record-clearing are more effective tools for reducing longterm delinquency than punitive enforcement.
